"One for All and All for One:
The History of the Jumpsuit"
Sep. 6, 2008 - Feb. 1, 2009
Often cited as the ideal fashion for the future, the one-piece garment originated as the quintessential work and flight uniform. While consistently a part of fashion, it remains on the edge of and maintains a fluid elusiveness of purpose and place.
This exhibition explores the history of the jumpsuit and its broad range of uses and widely varying interpretations from space, flight and work wear to haute couture variations by couturiers such as Rudi Gernreich, Yves Saint Laurent, Geoffrey Beene, Vivienne Westwood, Yohji Yamamoto among others."

"Promenade of Style:
The Caralee Biery Smith Collection"
1901 Main St.
Dallas, TX 75201
Sep. 26 - Dec. 19, 2008
Caralee Smith of Aledo, Texas has been a lifelong collector. Twenty-five years ago she began to focus her passion on vintage clothing. An interest in fashion history led Smith to seek cut examples of 19th century women's clothing and accessories. This exhibition will showcase an array of Smith's most carefully selected treasures from the 1830's - 1890's. Presented by the Texas Fashion Collection, Promenade of Style is a rare opportunity to take a peek inside Caralee's Closet, which is also the name of her vintage clothing business. Caralee Smith will be in attendance.
