Otto Thieme Memorial Internship Program
The Midwestern Region is sponsoring an eight-week summer internship to offer a student
in the field of costume a hands-on curatorial experience.
The regional summer internship has the following objectives:
1. To provide a mentored experience that draws from the knowledge
and expertise of the region's many talented professionals.
2. To encourage the training of professionals in the field of
costume, the most intimate and most perishable record of our
civilization.
3. To provide a focused, hands on curatorial experience which
will supplement a student's academic curriculum, and establish
the groundwork for an appreciation of the use of historic costumes
in costume scholarship.
Procedure: Candidates have two choices for selecting a museum in 2008. Participants are to select a project from the four institutions participating in the SUMMER, 2008 CSA REGION III INTERNSHIP PROGRAM [the projects are listed separately as an attachment to this application]. Or, as an applicant this year, you can propose a project with a host museum of your choice. This museum must be located in the Midwest Region. See enclosed application for more explanation.
