Itinerary

SUNDAY, JUNE 22: Evening departure from New York's JFK airport.
MONDAY, JUNE 23: Early morning arrival at London Heathrow. Transfer by private coach to Francis Hotel, Bath. Day at leisure. Optional sightseeing tour available (not included). Tour leaders will suggest activities for the non-jet lagged. Welcome buffet dinner (included) and orientation meeting at Hotel.
TUESDAY, JUNE 24: Full day excursion by private coach to the Museum of Welsh Life in Cardiff, Wales.  Private tour of costume storage with curator Christine Stevens.  The museum sits on a one hundred acre site which includes an 18th century woolen mill, re-erected cottages from the 14th through the 20th centuries, craft shops, etc. Lunch (included). Dinner on your own in Bath.
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 25: Full day excursion by private coach to Wells Cathedral and Montacute House, where portions of Sense & Sensibility was filmed, to view the wealth of Elizabethan & Jacobean portraits and collection of 17th C samplers. Lunch & dinner on your own.
THURSDAY, JUNE 26: All day excursion by private coach to Stonehenge, the most important prehistoric monument in Britain, to Salisbury Cathedral, a medieval cathedral dating from the 13th century, and to Glastonbury Abbey, set in the middle of an ancient and still thriving market town.  At the Abbey, costumed interpreters explain what life was like as a monk living during the 16th century. Lunch & dinner on your own.
FRIDAY, JUNE 27: Registration begins for the Costume Society of Great Britain’s symposium “Life in a Georgian City” (cost included). (Symposium Reception and dinner included).
SATURDAY, JUNE 28: CSGB symposium continues. Lunch & dinner (included).
SUNDAY, JUNE 29: CSGB symposium continues. Lunch (included). Dinner on your own.
MONDAY, JUNE 30: Transfer by private coach to Holiday Inn Forum Hotel, London. Optional sightseeing tour available (not included).  Tour leaders will suggest activities for London adventures. Lunch & dinner on your own.
TUESDAY, JULY 1: Free day in London to explore museum, gallery and shopping opportunities.  Recommendations will be provided. Lunch & dinner on your own. Evening theatre performance (included.)
WEDNESDAY, JULY 2: Full day at the Victoria and Albert Museum with curator Susan North, including the new Art Deco exhibition and a curator-led tour of the recently modernized British Galleries. Free time to explore other parts of the museum independently. Lunch & dinner on your own.
THURSDAY, JULY 3: Full day excursion to Hampton Court Palace with tour of State Apartments, workshop/lecture of approach to reproduction costume and behind the scenes tour of costume store with Jane Malcom-Davies, Caroline Johnson and Alex de-la-Haye. Lunch & Tea (included). Dinner on your own.
FRIDAY JULY, 4: Last free day in London to explore museum, gallery and shopping opportunities. Recommendations will be provided.
SATURDAY, JULY 5: Departure for London Heathrow by private coach for return flight.
