The exhibit PICTURE PERFECT RED showcased several items from the Florida State University's Historic Clothing and Textiles Collection housed at the Department of Textiles and Consumer Sciences. The Spring 2003 display at the Sandels Exhibit Room celebrated the permanence of Red in Fashion History as a color associated with glamorous and elegant evenings, vibrant and intense personalities, as well as other magical, medicinal, and regal qualities. The picture depicts fifties fashion in red, including a two piece dress made of chiffon and lined, from the bust down, with taffeta. Also in the picture is an early 50s red evening dress with velvet bow and a red velvet coat with decorative top stitching. The third dress is a belted one piece set with buttoned collar.
