Theresa Alexander

Secretary, 2022-2024

CSA's Secretary is responsible for the records of meetings including recording the proceedings of the National Board and Executive Committee meetings and the membership's Annual Meeting.

Dr. Theresa Alexander has been both a university educator and professional embroiderer for over 20 years. She is the other half of Elephant Embellishments (in partnership with her sister Lalon) as well as an associate professor of fashion management with the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. Theresa has a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Design from Texas Tech University, a Master of Arts in Fashion and Textiles from Nottingham Trent University in England, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of the Incarnate Word. Prior to teaching at UIW she taught fashion design at Texas Tech University and the Paris Fashion Institute. Theresa completed the couture embroidery and interior embroidery courses at the Lesage Ecole de Broderie d’Art in Paris and courses at the Japanese Embroidery Center in Atlanta. Together with her sister, she has embroidered pieces for television such as HBO’s Temple Grandin, Broadway shows such as Mary Poppins, weddings, and one-of-a-kind fabrics for runway fashions.
