This Vice President oversees and provides guidance to the committees who select CSA’s Awards and Honors, including the Betty Kirke Excellence in Research Award, the CSA Costume Design Award, the Costume Society of American Fellow Award, the Millia Davenport Publication Award, the Richard Martin Award, the Mary D. Doering Guardian Award, and the Scholars’ Roundtable Honor.

Arlesa Shephard is an Associate Professor & Curator at SUNY Buffalo State College, New York. Her primary experience is as an academic with a focus on fashion, and she also has a background working with museums and historic collections and in theatre costuming. Her experience within CSA includes serving as the chair of the CSA Fellow Selection Committee, a reviewer for the Millia Davenport Publication Award Committee, and most recently serving on the Endowment Committee.
