Patty Edmonson

Vice President Grants and Projects, 2024-2025

This Vice President oversees and provides guidance to the committees who award CSA’s grants and projects, including the Adele Filene Award Student Travel Award, the Dependent Care Grant, the CSA Travel Research Grant, the Stella Blum Student Research Grant, the College and University Collection Care Grant, the Small Museum Collection Care Grant, and the CSA Angels Project. 


As the Museum Advisory Council Curator of Costume & Textiles at the Western Reserve Historical Society, Patty Edmonson curates a collection of over 40,000 objects that tell the stories of Cleveland and Northeast Ohio. She has a BA in Art History from Case Western Reserve University and received an MA from the Winterthur Program in American Material Culture, where she studied decorative arts with a focus on furnishing textiles and historic interiors. Patty has worked in both the American Wing and the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She was part of the team that helped process the gift of the Brooklyn Museum’s costume collection to the Met in 2008. In 2010 she returned to Cleveland to work in the Education Department at the Cleveland Museum of Art, and in 2016 she joined the WRHS.
