Julia Petrov

Vice President for Publications, 2023-2025

The Vice President of Publications oversees and guides the editors, staff and volunteers of CSA e-News, Dress, the CSA Series, and any other CSA publications.

Dr. Julia Petrov is Curator of Daily Life and Leisure at the Royal Alberta Museum in Edmonton, Canada, where she oversees a large collection of social history artifacts, including costume and textiles. She is also adjunct academic staff at the University of Alberta, where she supervises graduate students and occasionally teaches classes on the history of fashion and material culture. After joining CSA in 2002, Julia published her first exhibition review in Dress, and now serves as exhibition review editor for the same journal. Her monograph, Fashion, History, Museums: Inventing the Display of Dress (Bloomsbury, 2019) is part of her ongoing research program investigating the presentation of costume in museums.
