Lalon Alexander

President, 2022-2024

CSA’s President provides the strategic leadership for the Society and is responsible for coordinating the implementation of the strategic plan.

Lalon Alexander teaches at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. She joined CSA as a student in 1994. Lalon holds a PhD in Higher Education with the University of the Incarnate Word, an MFA from Carnegie Mellon in Costume Design, and a BS in Fashion Design from Texas Tech. Previously Lalon worked in New York as a professional beader for Broadway and film before starting her own business in custom hand embroidery with her sister. Lalon currently teaches the beginning design and patterning classes and advanced construction classes, portfolio and surface design at UIW. Her research focuses on professional beading and embroidery with an emphasis in theater arts.
