
Annette Becker

This Vice President is responsible for encouraging networking among our members and for improving member services.
Annette Becker is an educator and fashion historian who serves as the director of the Texas Fashion Collection, an archive of nearly 20,000 historic and designer garments and accessories housed within the University of North Texas College of Visual Arts and Design. There, she creates academic programming, curates exhibitions with partnering cultural institutions, and advocates for the Collection. Her professional work is shaped by previous roles at the Spencer Museum of Art, the Dallas Museum of Art, and the Speed Art Museum, as well as training at the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Museum Leadership Institute at Claremont Graduate University. Annette holds a BA in Art History and English from the University of Kansas, an MA in Art History with a minor in Art Education from UNT, and a PhD in History from UNT, where her dissertation offered a business, consumer, and cultural history of American fashion awards from 1938-1970.
