
Julia Petrov

Dr Julia Petrov has been a member of CSA since 2003 and served as Vice-President of Publications from 2021-2025. Julia is Curator of Daily Life and Leisure at the Royal Alberta Museum in Edmonton, Canada, where she oversees a collection of approximately 65,000 objects and curates exhibitions on the social history of the province. She is also Adjunct Academic Staff at the University of Alberta, where she teaches and supervises undergraduate and graduate students. Her research is at the intersection of visual and material culture, particularly on the history of fashion exhibitions in museums. She is the author of
Fashion, History, Museums: Inventing the Display of Dress (Bloomsbury, 2019) and the co-editor of
Fashioning Horror: Dressing to Kill on Screen and in Literature (Bloomsbury, 2017).
