
Kim Y. Jones

Kim Lucy Jones is Associate Professor of Costume Design at Grambling State University, an HBCU in northern Louisiana. She began her professional career at the National Black Theatre in Harlem under the mentorship of Dr. Barbara Ann Teer and Tunde Samuels and later toured nationally as Wardrobe Supervisor with The Acting Company II. Kim has worked extensively in youth theatre and summer conservatories across the U.S., contributing to productions in 49 states. A former seasonal costume staffer at The Public Theatre–NY Shakespeare Festival, she recently assisted on
Bizarra: En Argentinsk in Trondheim, Norway. She holds degrees from Texas Woman’s University, Grambling State, and UNC Greensboro. A CSA member since 2020, she’s also active in USITT and NADSA. Kim’s passion for theatre, education, and travel defines her vibrant career as a designer, educator, and advocate for the arts.
