Mamta Saharan

Vice President for Publications, 2025-2027

The Vice President of Publications oversees and guides the editors, staff and volunteers of CSA e-News, Dress, the CSA Series, and any other CSA publications.

Mamta Saharan, Ph.D., is an assistant professor at SUNY Buffalo State, specializing in virtual and 3D digital technologies in product design. She earned her Ph.D. from Punjab Agricultural University, documenting Bagri community costumes across three generations, and holds an M.B.A. in Marketing from the University of Texas Permian Basin. She has taught a wide range of courses—from Fashion History to Textile Surface Design—at institutions including Mercyhurst University and her alma mater in India. Her research, published in peer-reviewed journals, spans cosmetotextiles and sustainable fashion. Industry experience as a 3D Fashion Designer in the UK and a Textile Designer in India complements her academic work. She has received multiple honors, including research fellowships and the Wood Family Foundation Scholarship. Mamta’s combination of scholarly rigor, industry insight, and dedication to education makes her a valuable asset to the field.
