Paula Alaszkiewicz

2025-2028

Paula Alaszkiewicz is Assistant Professor in Design and Merchandising and Curator of the Avenir Museum at Colorado State University. Her research examines the structures and contexts of fashion display, with a focus on world’s fairs and international exhibitions as experimental curatorial sites—a topic featured in her recent article in Fashion Studies. Paula’s scholarship also explores textiles and dress as instruments of coloniality, emphasizing decolonial and global perspectives in the classroom. She holds a Ph.D. in Art History from Concordia University, an M.A. in History and Culture of Fashion from London College of Fashion, and a B.A. in Art History from McGill. From 2014–2020, she worked closely with curator Judith Clark and has contributed to exhibitions for global fashion houses and museums. Paula brings curatorial insight, academic rigor, and a commitment to inclusive fashion histories to her teaching and scholarship.
