Taniqua Martin is a fashion historian and digital content creator whose work centers on Black fashion history and diasporic style. She is the founder of Black Fashion History, a research-driven platform dedicated to documenting, interpreting, and preserving the global influence of Black designers, dress traditions, and aesthetic practices. She holds an undergraduate degree from Georgia Southern University and a Master’s degree in Communication and Media from Rutgers University, with an emphasis in Digital Media.

Her research interests include the role of dress in communicating identity, memory, and resistance across the African diaspora and the recovery and documentation of overlooked and underrepresented fashion professionals. She has worked with brands such as KeyTV, founded by Keke Palmer, and institutions including the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) to bring fashion history to the public through accessible digital storytelling and public programs. Her interdisciplinary approach combines historical analysis, visual culture, and autotheoretical methods to expand how fashion history is shared across academic and public platforms.
